This is one of the best personal
finance book of all time, which is written in very simple language. Everyone
can follow the author without any professional training or
specific understanding of the subject area.
Mr.Robert Kiyosaki narrates psychology of rich and poor in the perspective
from two very different influences - his two fathers. One father (Robert's real
father) was a highly educated man but fiscally poor. The other father was the
father of Robert's best friend - that Dad was an eighth-grade drop-out who
became a self-made multi-millionaire.
Kiyosaki’s two dads had opposing attitudes in thought. One dad
recommended “study hard so you can find a
good company to work for”. The other recommended “study hard so you can find a good company to buy”.
One said “when it comes to
money, play it safe, don’t take risks”. The other said “learn to manage risk”.
One believed “Our home is our largest investment and our greatest asset”. The other
believed “My house is a liability and if
your house is your largest investment, you are in trouble”.
Both dads paid their bills on
time, yet one paid his bills first when the other paid his bill last.
The lifelong monetary problems
experienced by his poor dad pounded home the counterpoint communicated by his
rich dad. Taking that message to heart, Kiyosaki was able to retire at 47.
Some people may have a different
opinion about this book, but I strongly believe that this is one of the best book
I ever read in self help genre category.
